Volkswagen comes to us with a new vehicle this year, the Taos. The comparison with the models of the competition is therefore natural and especially with the Hyundai Tucson, completely revised for 2022.

Fuel economy: Comparing the base engines offered by the two vehicles, you realize that you'll be putting a lot of money in your pocket by opting for the Taos. In two-wheel-drive configuration, the average fuel consumption of its 1.5-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine is 7.6 liters per 100 km. This increases to 8.5 liters with the 4Motion system. At Hyundai, the respective ratings are 8.2 and 9.0 liters with the 2.5-liter 4-cylinder powertrain.
Interior presentation and quality: Finally, two things about the interior. While Hyundai's approach is modern and sleek, it's not pretty. A simple comparison of the design of the dashboards makes us realize that good taste is to be found at Volkswagen. Add to that superior assembly quality, the result of German know-how, and you have an environment where it is better to live.
